I delivered MAEB on a Thursday. They sent me home Saturday. Sunday night I went to bed early hoping to get some rest before our next feeding. As soon as my head hit the pillow I couldn’t breathe. I could hear myself attempting to breathe but I sound more like I was drowning from the inside out. My dad and Dan took me to the ER in Manhattan, Kansas while my mom stayed with my three day old daughter. I was put in an ambulance and sent back to my hospital in Kansas City. My chest cavity had filled with fluid. Luckily, medication delivered through an IV took care of it and I was ok but the damage to my heart was already done. My EF went from about 40% to 20%. Back in heart failure with a new baby and Christmas was five days away.
